I HATE KETCHUP.

I HATE CANCER MORE.

It’s time to catch up to cancer.

I lost my 36-year-old wife to cancer.

No family should have to experience what we went through. Now, I fundraise so that no family has to.

TO END CHILDHOOD CANCER

Let’s catch up to cancer, together.

Listen, I hate ketchup but I hate cancer more. It’s time we catch up to cancer. If some ketchup gets spilled along the way, that’s a price I’m willing to pay.

Cancer is extremely personal to me. I would be honored for your support to help fund important research and support cancer patients, survivors, and their caregivers to, hopefully one day, end cancer for good. And if some ketchup gets spilled along the way, so be it!

Let's end cancer. Together. •

Hi, I’m Alex Baker. I am a 40-year-old widower with a 10-year-old son. In October 2017, my wife was diagnosed with Stage 4 colorectal cancer. Over the next 16 months, she went through 25 rounds of chemo, 50 rounds of radiation, four different treatment centers, clinical trials and more before she ultimately passed in February 2019 six years ago. During that time, her battle cry was Strong All Along, in honor of her favorite band 311.

Now, I am a #StrongAllAlong charity marathon runner fundraising for cancer-related charities in Amanda’s honor, including my current charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Listen. I’m from Chicago. You don’t put ketchup on your hot dogs. You just put it in the trash. Kidding.

Seriously though, wouldn’t it be funny if someone walked in a parade and handed out ketchup packets instead of candy?

Who does that?

We do that. And we are doing that, not because it’s funny, we are doing it to end cancer.

Because cancer sucks and it impacts millions of people a year. Not just the patients, but their caregivers, their children, their parents.

You can be a huge help to ensure that no family ever receives a bill at St. Jude for treatment, housing, travel or food.
